For those of you who are regular visitors here, Rob Ryan’s work will needs no introduction. He first exhibited here with us in 2008, and has been a popular core artist ever since. Many of you have enjoyed his skilful designs, his romantic poetry and his heartfelt sentiments. Some of you have even shed a tear.
Rob has just published a new book. ‘A Sky Full of Kindness’ which has been written and illustrated by Rob using his intricate and beautiful paper cuts, telling the story of two birds who are preparing for their egg to hatch.
He is planning to launch it here at Castor & Pollux, and so we will be showing a selection of hand cut illustrations from the book, new screen prints, and the usual tiles, books, bunting, mugs, laser cuts, cards and plates.
There is a new exhibition poster available, too.
Please email april@castorandpollux.co.uk if you wish to come along to the opening night, when Rob will be here to sign books. The show will run from 4th November until 5th December.

The School Prints
Castor & Pollux have recently acquired a number of School Prints.
Brenda Rawnsley, arts campaigner, art education activist and wartime WAAF Squadron Officer, and her husband Derek had the idea of bringing contemporary art to young children who would otherwise not have had the opportunity to see ‘good’ work. Within a few years of the Second World War, Brenda had set up School Prints Ltd to sell original lithographs to schools and commissioned several of the most important living artists for her scheme.
These prints are now over sixty years old, but in perfect condition and we are pleased to offer a small selection at Castor & Pollux.
Please get in touch if you have any queries, 01273 773776, april@castorandpollux.co.uk
