Charley Harper – restocked!!

After a few months of lamenting the end of our Summer show, we have managed to get a few more Charley Harper originals. There are only a few, due to their rarity, so it’s first come, first served for purchases.

Images supplied are not accurate for colour – the actual prints are usually much brighter.

The vintage prints are at least forty years old and have not been stored in an ideal conservation environment. Deteriation of paper stock is inevitable and some minimal foxing around the edges of some of the prints is evident. Some have small scuff marks. The prints, however, are bright and crisp due to the fact that Charley Harper used white ink for the white areas.

Prints should be inspected before purchase, and are sold ‘as seen’ and we will not be able to reserve and request full payment at the time of purchase.

All prints sold framed are done so using acid-free conservation materials. Some are available to buy unframed.

The more recent prints are signed and numbered, and have been made in a commercial printshop, earlier ones were printed by Charley Harper and tend to be stamped with a facsimilie of Charley Harper’s signature and the words ‘© The Estate of Charley Harper’.

The prices reflect rareity/popularity.

Charley Harper did not make an inventory of the vintage prints, or number them. It is thought that there were no more that 100 printed of each, and that the prints with fine lines are rarer, due to ink drying in the lines quicker, making printing more difficult.
